Preparing for delivery

There are two groups of modules to help you prepare for delivery: Inside the Diploma and Health checks.

Inside the Diploma

This is suitable for those of you who are new to the Diploma.

There are four modules within Inside the Diploma:

Inside the Diploma – introduction to the Diploma

  • Provides an introduction to the Diploma.
  • Outlines the rationale for its development.
  • Shows you how the Diploma differs from other qualifications.
  • Develops your understanding of how the Diploma will provide the skills that are valued by employers.

Inside the Diploma – introduction to your Diploma line

  • Builds on your understanding of the curriculum content of your Diploma line of learning.
  • Investigates potential delivery models that you can adapt for your own use.
  • Develops teaching and learning strategies to support your Diploma delivery.

Inside the Diploma – generic learning

  • Provides you with an overview of the generic learning elements of the Diploma. Generic learning includes functional skills in English, maths and ICT, personal, learning and thinking skills and a separately assessed project.
  • Investigates how generic learning can be embedded into Diploma delivery.
  • Develops teaching and learning strategies with you to develop your learners’ skills.

Inside the Diploma – delivering the Diploma

  • Gives you the chance to develop an action plan for Diploma delivery.
  • Considers all the elements that need to be in place for successful delivery of the Diploma.

Health checks

There are two types of health check available depending on whether you are preparing for or already delivering the Diploma.

Health check – preparing for the Diploma

  • Checks that you are on track to getting ready to successfully meet the requirements of the whole Diploma.
  • Identifies your strengths and any possible areas for development.

Health check – delivery of the Diploma

  • Checks your consortium is on track towards successfully completing the Diploma requirements.
  • Helps to ensure that your learners are given the opportunity to achieve the highest possible grades.

 

Face-to-face support is flexible – many modules can be delivered in combination with each other.
